Hey there, family! It’s Mom here, and I’m excited to share our latest chapter on our family blog. As you know, we’ve embarked on a thrilling journey and have officially moved to the sunny state of Florida. So, grab a cup of Dr. Pepper/Diet Coke/coffee/water/Monster/whatever floats your boat, get comfy, and let’s dive into my two positives and one negative as we settle into our new home.
Positive #1: Embracing the Florida Lifestyle
One of the most exciting aspects of our move is that we’re finally starting to settle into our new surroundings. Although we’re in temporary housing, we’re making the most of it and enjoying a month of relaxation. The Florida lifestyle is treating us well, especially with a pool, a beautiful lake, and so much unique wildlife. From all kinds of birds to squirrels to adorable turtles, every day brings a new encounter with nature.
Positive #2: Working from Home Bliss
Working from home has been an unexpected blessing. From the comfort of home, I can work in my pajamas, shorts, or sweatpants, all while having our adorable furry pups snuggled on my lap. The flexibility of my schedule allows me to take naps or even go for a swim between work sessions. I love being able to spend time with Dad and Tanner during the day. Working from home has definitely transformed my daily routine for the better.
Negative: Bidding Farewell to Liberty
Of course, amidst all the excitement, I experienced a mix of emotions as we said goodbye to our beloved town of Liberty after 18 wonderful years. It’s only natural to feel a tinge of sadness when leaving behind a place filled with cherished memories. Our old home holds a special place in our hearts, and the people and community there will always hold a significant role in our lives.
We are definitely trying to embrace the new experiences, from the beauty of our surroundings to the joys of working from home. “Look forward with excitement, not back with sadness” is my motto right now!
We found a book in our Airbnb titled, “100 Things to do in Tampa Before You Die”, and we love the suggestions! Our goal is to do at least one of them weekly.
I encourage each of you to subscribe to this blog and share your own monthly stories of 2 positives and a negative. Let’s stay connected through our words and experiences. I can’t wait to hear about all the adventures and challenges you’re facing.
I love you each, always and forever, no matter what!
